I saw that on someone’s Facebook status awhile ago.

I believe otherwise. 

Photos don’t “kill” the essence of a moment. Photos preserve it, triggering the smallest details of a memory. Taking photographs of something doesn’t make it dead; photographs keep it alive for a very long time.
